The continued refusal of the Crown and the keeping of the remains is akin to the holding on to cultural artifacts and treasures of former colonies in Western Museums, Libraries, and private collections. Hence the call for their return. The Benin Bronzes and Elgin Marbles are examples of the recent calls by Governments and activists. These plunder by International and domestic law standards are crimes. Including the kidnapping of an orphan, which act subsequently threw him into depression and possibly caused his death. Any Government or person who continues to support or facilitate the subsistence of such crimes without redress, in my opinion, is an accessory to the crime and can only purge themselves from these crimes by walking the path of justice. Justice to the victims and their descendants as well as their respective countries.
