Leveraging a zero day security flaw the clop ransomware gang attacked the National Student Clearinghouse’s MOVEit transfer solution which caters for about 22000 High Schools and 3600 Colleges.
The incidence breach notice stated victims names, contact details, date of birth, social security numbers, student ID Numbers and education records were affected.
This is another example of the risks to personal data in an increasingly digital and fast-paced world.
